PixelMill Co-Founder, Office 365, SharePoint, and Azure enthusiast. aka: Geek.
I started working with web technologies in 1998 and then SharePoint back in the days of 2002 when our PixelMill CEO at the time, Jason Reckers, foresaw the success of SharePoint (Go Jason!). As a UI developer and coder, I have to admit that SharePoint Portal Server 2001 was tough to work with. PixelMill continued to work with SharePoint through Microsoft SharePoint 2003 on through MOSS 2007 but it wasn’t until MOSS 2007 that I got serious with the branding potential of SharePoint. I was fortunate to have learned SharePoint along side other notable web design experts such as Corrie Haffly and Heather Waterman, who helped create some of PixelMill’s first skins for SharePoint 2007.
Since SharePoint 2007, SharePoint has taken over more and more of my professional life. The development, branding and UI aspects of SharePoint have been fascinating to say the least and I enjoy the strong community that has built up around the platform. I have enjoyed blogging, speaking and discussing all things SharePoint. I am proud to participate in the organization of local SharePoint Saturdays including SharePoint Saturday Sacramento and SharePoint Saturday Silicon Valley as well as local area user groups. Check out my other contributions as well as speaking engagements.
In 2016, Microsoft recognized my contributions to SharePoint and Office 365 by awarding me as a Microsoft MVP, and then in 2017, Microsoft recognized my community leadership and general technology expertise by accepting me in to the Microsoft Regional Director program.
