Soon to be published SharePoint 2013 Branding and Responsive Design Book

In case you hadn’t heard, I am writing a book! Or rather I am co-authoring a SharePoint 2013 Branding and Responsive Web Development book with a few other very talented people, in particular Rita Zhang, Oscar Medina, Kanwal Khipple and Benjamin Niaulin. The title of the book, “Pro SharePoint 2013 Branding and Responsive Web Development” should be publishing by APress sometime in May. The title say s it all.A9781430250289-3d_1

Anyhow, Ben sent me an email a few days ago regarding his recent trip to SharePoint Summit in Quebec. His quote:

“I am currently at the SharePoint Summit in Quebec, I got stopped by an attendee at the train station on my way there who opened up a binder full of papers asking branding questions. He started showing me the pages in his binder, I started noticing familiar text.

He had an Alpha copy of our book!”

I am sure the attendee was overwhelmed with information. If you have met Ben before then you are well aware of his vast knowledge of SharePoint and his willingness to share it all with anyone that asks.

Anyhow, that reminded me, our book was recently released in APress’ Alpha program! Their Alpha program is quite cool as it lets you get a hold of the material now in digital form. Once the book is officially published, you get the final version as well. It’s pre-ordering with the benefit of getting the material now! Pretty cool huh?

pre-book1If you are looking for information now on branding SharePoint 2013, in particular how to brand SharePoint 2013 with Responsive Web Design principles in mind, this book is for you. The entire book is out of Technical Review and we are working through the feedback, improving the material. But you can have access to the entire first draft as well as any updates. Chapters are making it out of the second draft stage almost daily! Sure, there is still some work that will be done to tighten chapters up, but I must say that the material as currently written is useful and very thorough.

We have some interesting plans for the book as well, post publication. We created a SharePoint Yammer group that we will use to help bring together the authors and readers. We also intend to provide supplemental content throughout the SharePoint 2013 life-cycle so as to expand on the material in the book. Our goal is to provide as much information as possible to help you complete your SharePoint branding project.

If you are interested in learning more, check out our Book site at Apress – (http://www.apress.com/9781430250289). If you have already purchased an Alpha copy and have questions, comments or suggestions, please let me know. Your feedback is always welcome.
