European SharePoint Conference 2017 – November 13-16 – Dublin Bound!

European SharePoint Conference 2017 (ESPC17) is only a few months away, and the countdown has begun for Europe’s largest SharePoint, Office 365, and Azure Conference! This year’s ESPC is taking place in Dublin, Ireland, November 13-16th. I am excited to be co-presenting a full day tutorial with Waldek Mastykarz, a fellow MVP with Rencore. Besides the full day workshop, I will also be presenting a few sessions on topics such as Azure and TypeScript.

Early Bird ends September 21st so time is running out for those of you yet to lock in your discounted tickets.

The following is 5 tips provided by the talented ESPC team for getting the most of ESPC 2017.

  1. Be in good company

Find out who’s attending this year by checking out Twitter #ESPC17 and the ESPC17 delegates page. If you’d like to be added to this page, email your image and details to sarah@sharepointeurope.com. This is a prime opportunity to network with peers, connect with new prospects, and check in with clients.

Pro tip: Schedules fill up quickly, so reach out to those you want to connect with before the event and set up a meeting.

  2. Make a plan

Review the conference schedule and choose the sessions and tutorials you want to attend.

Pro tip: If you’re attending with co-workers, split up and attend different sessions to maximize your company’s investment. You can swap notes.

  3. Know what you don’t know

Think about what you’d like to learn during the conference. I highly encourage you to write down specific questions you’d like to ask for each session you plan to attend and ask them during the Q&A.

Pro tip: If there is not enough time to ask your question during the Q&A, find the presenter after the session and ask them then. I have yet to meet a speaker who would be unwilling to discuss their session after the session itself is over.

Pro tip #2: Write down the three most important takeaways from each session to share with your team later.

  4. Get social

This year they estimate 2,000 people from the SharePoint, Office 365 & Azure community will attend ESPC17. After parties (The Black & White Party at the Guinness Storehouse on Wednesday 15th) along with the many other great side-line and networking sessions are a great way to connect with the community.

Pro tip: Don’t hesitate to introduce yourself to speakers or bloggers–networking is key and they’re there to connect too.

  5. Sharing is caring (Go PnP!)

Make sure you share what you’ve learned and make a plan to implement key takeaways with your team.

Pro tip: Schedule a follow up meeting after the conference to knowledge transfer takeaways with your team.
